Escape a Tower Update (version 2.3)

Escape a Tower Version 2.3 has been released with several fixes.
  • Fixes HTML5 validation issues.
  • Erasing save data now only deletes Escape a Tower data. Before, if you deleted save data from Escape a Tower, all your local storage data was removed, even Button Masher/Keyboard Masher scores. This has been fixed.
  • IE8 support. This was the result of fixing the HTML5 validation issues, so if you happen to use this outdated Internet Explorer version, you're in luck.
Once again, thanks for checking out this update.

I am Thinking of a Number Update (Version 2.3.3)

Thanks to my new Javascript knowledge, I was able to once again reduce the file size of this game. Here's what happened this time:
  • The file size has decreased once again (by 0.22 KB)
  • Fixed a title formatting issue with Firefox
And of course, the link has changed from the Dropbox one to Github for a cleaner look. Here is the new link.

Enjoy! And if you feel like it, check out the new try catch statement I used for the customgame function. It's something new I've learned today.

Escape a Tower Update (Version 2.2)

So apparently, I was an HTML criminal. (See crime #3 and #5.)

The result of this article is an update to my text adventure, Escape a Tower. The patch fixes most of the past crimes committed, plus a few other changes. Here are the release notes:
  • Formatting fixes for Firefox, Internet Explorer, and mobile devices.
  • Added the option to erase save data on the bottom of version history.
  • The file size has decreased (by 5 KB).
The link to Escape a Tower has also changed, as I am starting to transfer my games from Dropbox to Github. Here is the new link. (A lot more clean the the Dropbox link, right?)

Thanks for checking out the update.

Site Updates

I finally went through and updated the blog once and for all to take it out of the PowerPoint days. Here's what happened:

  • I updated the About page so it is more relevant to what the blog is now.
  • I changed the name of the Download page to Projects, since I am now making HTML5 games, and those games don't need to be downloaded to play.
  • I updated the Coming Soon page. That page hasn't been updated for two years!
  • After two and a half years, I've finally added a new prototype: Oscillation mode for Button Masher! Go to the Projects page to check it out!

Button Masher Oscillation Prototype

Here is a prototype for a possible new game mode for Button Masher: Oscillation.

The definition of oscillation according to Google is "movement back and forth at a regular speed." This is exactly what this game mode does. The button moves around back and forth, and you have to move your cursor around to keep up with the button while clicking at the same time.

Oscillation mode works on IE10+, Firefox 16+, Chrome, Safari 4+, and Opera 12.10+.

Cursor Adventure Password Released

Seeing that I'm not developing PowerPoint games anymore, I might as well release the password to edit Cursor Adventure, essentially making the game open source.

The password is: L2AH3C691X

Feel free to mess around with the game as much as you want for your own personal use only.
